Sun Care

Ancient humans understood the need to protect themselves from the sun and paid tribute to what was thought to be a vengeful deity. But those were times when the harm caused by the sun – sunburn, blindness, skin lesions, dehydration, and death – was attributed to cruel and deliberate divine decisions over which humans had no control. Today, the decision is yours. When you allow yourself to be exposed to harmful ultraviolet radiation, the direct rays of the sun, you invite sunburn, skin damage, skin cancer, immune suppression, and cataracts. The steps you take to prevent these problems would come under the category of sun care.

Sun care defines any method you use to protect yourself while exposed to the sun, or any method you use to help yourself or your skin recover after being exposed. These methods include drinking water to stay hydrated, applying sunscreen or sun lotions, wearing sun protective clothing, using after sun ointment, wearing sun glasses and hats, using shade structures, using window tints as well any other method of sun protection available.

Sun care means caring for yourself and your family while in the sun. There are products that advertise with the word "sun care" and there are individuals, including dermatologists and scientists, who encourage the use of many methods of sun care.

We believe it is easiest to remember what you need for the best sun care can be found by following the simple steps of SunAWARE.
